Equine Massage utilizes many of the same modalities as Human massage. Deep Tissue, Triggerpoint, Swedish, Cross Friction etc.  An evaluation is performed initially and that determines the course for the next 75 to 90 minutes. Common areas of tension vary from individual and discipline.  For example cutting and reining horses can tend to experience tension in the pecs and triceps. Jumpers commonly display in the flanks, the hamstring group. The musculature of the legs above the knee and hock can suprisingly carry notable tension in all breeds and disciplines.
